Vinny is a 14-year-old nonverbal autistic artist whose paintings speak louder than words. He went through a deep personal crisis — and it was art that saved him. Picking up a brush gave him something words never could: a way to release, to heal, and to move forward. His family made the difficult decision to move him from Chicago to a residential school in New Hampshire, where he is now focused on his education and learning languages. While he doesn't have the same opportunity to paint as he did at home, Vinny still creates when he can. During his most intense period of painting, he created more than 30 original artworks — each one unique and irreplaceable. These paintings are now being prepared for Vinny's first ever art exhibition. Art was his voice when he needed it most. His story is still unfolding.
